Watching trailers for ‘Come Hell or High Water’ has really gotten me excited about body surfing now that the water is warm enough again.
So I’ve decided to pass the stoke on with another Hand Plane sale blast.
All Hand Planes are now $75! (reg $120). Get them while they last!

I got this ride report from Julien in MA for his new 5’8” diamond tail Mini Simm in my inbox.

Hi Kevin,

Picking up the mini on Sunday turned out to be perfect timing.  I rode it Monday through Wednesday at a number of spots south of Boston in perfectly clean waist to head high conditions The speed that thing generates is amazing and it is so loose!  I’ve never had an easier time making it around sections and over flat spots. Frontside on larger steeper waves I did have to be mindful to avoid jamming my inside rail too far into the wave - went over the handlebars a couple times after that mistake - but overall I adjusted to the board right away.  It is so fast that it forces me into cutbacks which is great. It paddles well too. I got into many waves with only a couple strokes.  I attempted to make it slide out but to no avail.  I’m sure I’ll find it’s limits when I’m not trying!

Great power, greater responsibility?

Finally got to take the new 8’0” x 23” x 3” Full Simm in some fun chest to head high waves today in Southern RI. This board has amazing glide, for both paddling and trimming across the face of the waves. I could easily gotten carried away and become a real wave hog with this board (hence the title of this post…) Even made a couple late drops that I was certain were going to end bad. I rode it with Twin Keels and a small center trailer fin. On every wave it just keep surprising me more and more what it was capable of doing. I highly recommend this shape for micro waves to shoulder high waves.

9’6” x 23” x 3” Conventional PU Foam Longboard. Single Fin. Red resin gloss tint nose and matte finish body.

5’8” x 23” x 2.8” Wood with Recycled EPS Diamond Tail Mini Simm. Glass on quad fins.
